About
After a career in the SF county mental health system (San Francisco Department of Public Health). I decided to take a new direction - away from counseling.
First I joined others asking our employee pension fund to divest from fossil-fuel companies, but we had only limited success.
In the mean time, my wife and I dramatically cut our household emissions (see Solutions).
I spent some time with the 350.org group lobbying political leaders to do much more, much sooner, to stop global warming. Once again, progress was slow at every governmental level: city, county, state.
What I felt was missing was talking to people about the CAUSES of the problem. Too few see the connections between our behavior and the worsening weather.
It came to me that a “boycott of pollution” might be good way to help educate people, motivate people, reduce pollution, and hopefully to spark economic and political momentum - toward cleaner, healthier air and better weather forecasts.
Can you help make it happen?
