Chevron pays Sani Abacha of Nigeria to allow for exploration operations.

Chevron gets investment $ from JP Morgan Chase after finding a likely oil deposit in Nigeria.

Chase demands a percentage of the anticipated profits.

Chevron asks Abacha to allow oil extraction work and offers a deal to Abacha.

Chevron unearths the oil, and transports it to a Koch Industries refinery.

Chevron pays workers for drilling, transporting, maintaining, repairing, doing research, etc.

Koch pays Chevron for the unprocessed crude oil.
-
Koch sends the refined oil, now transformed into kerosene, through a pipeline to an airport.

Southwest pays Koch for the kerosene (jet-fuel).

I give Southwest money to book a seat on a flight.

Southwest flies the airplane to its destination - by burning the fuel, it creates pollution.
After paying for

- refinery owner,

all get some percentage of the money I gave Southwest.
